RESIDENTIAL LIFT STATION CUSTOMERS

If the electricity goes out in your area please limit your use of water until the power is restored. Lift stations may fill not only with household water but also with rain water. An overflowing lift station may spill out into your yard or potentially back up in your home.


Administration

Town Manager & Website Admin Sandie Jones, Administration Manager Phyllis Carr and Administrative Assistant Maddie Gibson are responsible for overseeing affairs of the Nashville Town government. Contact them for administrative questions such as: requesting new utility hook-ups, getting existing utility lines located, problems with your utility service, or possible Ordinance violations in Nashville. To request copies of Ordinances, or any other concerns call the Town Administrator's Office at (812) 988-5526 or fax (812) 988-5527.

The Water Utility and Wastewater Treatment Plant is headed by Robin Willey, Water/Sewer Operator.


Utility Billing

The Nashville Utilities billing cycle begins with meter reading beginning around the 12th of the month.  Bills are mailed on the 3rd of each month. Payments are due on or before the 20th of each month and on the 21st, penalties are added. If payments are not made in full on or before the 20th of the following month, the service will be disconnected. Any questions about your bill, beginning a new billing account or closing a billing account, please contact the Billing Clerk at (812) 988-7064. For cost of services, see below.

New Accounts

In order to start new service with Nashville Municipal Utilities you must complete the New Account Form (save to your computer before completing), provide a copy of your state issued ID and deposit of $100. You may e-mail the completed form and ID to Billing Clerk Darla Goodwin at nmubilling@townofnashville.org, or mail to Town of Nashville, PO Box 446, Nashville, IN 47448 or call our office at 812-988-7064, come into the office located at 200 Commercial Street, Nashville, IN 47448. We accept cash, check, money orders. You may pay with a credit card online at PayGov.US, or by calling PayGov at 1-866-480-8552. There is an additional fee to us this service. If you have any questions please contact Billing Clerk Darla at (812) 988-7064.

Utility Payment Options

There are several ways you can pay your water bill:

1. You can drop it off at the Nashville Municipal Utilities drop box located in the front of the Town Hall at 200 Commercial Street. We accept cash, check or money orders. To pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover ONLY) see #5 below.

2. You can mail a check to the Nashville Municipal Utilities, PO Box 446, Nashville, Indiana 47448).

3. Set up a monthly automatic withdrawal. Sign-up forms are available at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office or click here for an application (save to your computer before completing) Please remember to include a voided check. E-mail the completed form to Billing Clerk Darla Goodwin at nmubilling@townofnashville.org, or mail to Town of Nashville, PO Box 446, Nashville, IN 47448 or drop it off at the Nashville Municipal Utilities drop box located in the front of the Town Hall located at 200 Commercial Street.

4. Bill Pay through Your Bank: This is setup through your bank and your bank will mail us a check – this is NOT electronic. Your payment is usually received about 7-10 days after it is setup to pay. Our address is: Nashville Municipal Utilities, PO Box 446, Nashville, Indiana 47448. Please include your utility account number on your check.

5. You may also pay your utility bill with a credit card online at PayGov.US, or by calling PayGov at 1-866-480-8552. There is a service charge for using this service.

PayGov.US also has a mobile app you can download to your phone. You can down load the app here: IOS Andriod our PLC# is 3116 There is a service charge for using this service.

Canceling Accounts

In order to discontinue service with Nashville Municipal Utilities you must complete the Discontinuance of Service Form (save to your computer before completing). You may e-mail the completed form to Billing Clerk Darla Goodwin at nmubilling@townofnashville.org, or mail to Town of Nashville, PO Box 446, Nashville, IN 47448 or come to our office at 200 Commercial Street, Nashville, IN 47448. You must verify that we have received your canceling account request. If you have any questions please contact Billing Clerk Darla at (812) 988-7064.

Water and Sewer Service Monthly Charges
*Each user shall pay a minimum monthly charge equal to 2,000 gallons of water usage each month applied to the appropriate metered rate plus the appropriate meter charge.  

Account Deposit
Each user shall pay an account deposit of $100.00 prior to providing services.

Additional Charges for Water Taps - Ordinance 2023-02
The basic charge for a 5/8" meter tap shall be at the current market rate. Contact Town Administration for a current price list.

Additional Charges for Sewer Hook-Ups - Ordinance 2023-03

  • Sewer Hook-up (5/8" residential meter) The basic charge for these materials and the necessary labor shall be at the current market rate. Contact Town Administration for a current price list.

  • Simplex pumping station (Lift Station), single family residences and small businesses serviced by a 5/8" water meter, the basic charge for these materials and the necessary labor shall be at the current market rate. Contact Town Administration for a current price list.

  • Simplex pump stations, maintained by the Town and serviced by a 5/8" water meter shall have a monthly fee of $10.52 added to the monthly base rate.

Leak Adjustment Request

WHEREAS, to relieve financial hardship on customers, the Town Council has provided some relief for catastrophic loss of water due to undetected leaks. The relief is in accordance with IC 8-1.5-3.5-3 and 5-4 . Water utility bill adjustments are available to residential customers only. Residential and commercial customers are eligible for sewer bill adjustments. See the details on the procedures for the adjustment of Utility Bills in Ordinance 2022-11 here.
