Town Council Emergency Response Training - Agenda

Brown County Indiana Emergency Management

October 29th, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

BROWN COUNTY’S LOCAL EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE (LEPC) IS SPONSORING A FULL-SCALE DISASTER TRAINING EXERCISE

The Brown County LEPC and Brown County Emergency Management are sponsoring a full-scale exercise for all emergency response agencies in Brown County on Saturday, November 9th 2019 between 12pm and 5pm.

A Full-Scale exercise is a great training tool for our first responders to practice responding to a large scale incident in real time. A Full-scale exercise is the type of exercise where there is an actual “scene” that responders must go to and will be working the incident in real time just like they would if it was a real-world call. There will be actors in make-up pretending to be injured as well as other Hazmat specific props that will give responders a more realistic scene to practice in.

This exercise is occurring at the Fairgrounds, but there may be an increase of emergency vehicles in the area especially in the afternoon hours.

Anyone wishing to observe the exercise is welcome to attend and an area for observers will be set up in advance. We ask that you arrive at the fairgrounds no later than 12:30pm so that once the exercise starts, we have limited traffic coming in and out of the area.

If you have any questions, please email them to: ema@browncounty-in.us
