The Brown County Lions Club’s July 4 fireworks display will not take place on the holiday, which falls on a Tuesday this year.

Instead, the show at the high school football field will start at dusk Saturday, July 1, Lions President Deadra Nail said.

Last year, it rained on July 4, so there was no fireworks show; the Lions hadn’t set a rain date.

This year, if there’s lightning, a heavy downpour or heavily overcast skies on July 1, the show will be moved to July 4, Nail said.

The Brown County (Nashville) Volunteer Fire Department also moved its pre-fireworks cookout to July 1.
