Nashville Metropolitan Police Merit Commission Meeting
Meeting - September 17, 2018 at 3:00pm - Agenda
BROWN COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to restrict traffic on Ind. 46 on April 5 to a single lane at its bridge over the north fork of Salt Creek, located 0.25 miles west of Ind. 135 in Nashville. Temporary signals will be placed Monday at either end of the three-span, 153-foot-long structure to regulate one-direction-at-a-time traffic.
The Ind. 46 Salt Creek structure is part of a $1,153,832 three-bridge Brown County rehabilitation project. Ragle Inc. is the state’s contractor. Its Newburgh-based crews are charged with installing a latex modified concrete deck overlay to protect the Salt Creek bridge and renew its driving surface.
The department of transportation will also close the westbound shoulder of Ind. 46 at Gnaw Bone, where a metal arched pipe culvert near Brown Hill Road will be repaired and the pavement will be patched. Later, the eastbound shoulder as well as Old Ind. 46 will close for Phase II repairs. Two-way traffic will be maintained at the Ind. 46 site located two miles east of Ind. 135 at Nashville.
After Memorial Day, the contractor will remove and replace an existing single-span slab-top structure adjacent to Ind. 46 at Bond Cemetery Road/Shipley Hollow Road. A new 14-by-7-foot concrete box culvert measuring 53 feet in width will be installed at the site located just east of Ind. 446. Temporary signals will regulate single lane one-direction-at-a-time traffic.
